Pre-Machining Scanning
Motion Setup: SKEYE-6M-35 is mounted inside a CNC machine. Scanning occurs during axis translation.
Application Description: In many industries such as the automotive or aeronautics sectors, parts will acquire significant value as they go through the different stages of manufacturing. Tailored machining these parts with RoboGauge according to actual rather than theoretical dimensions will reduce scrap cost while increasing throughput and end result quality.

Inline Inspection on a Gantry
Motion Setup: SKEYE-6M-300 mounted inside a 4-axis gantry. Scanning occurs during linear translation.
Application Description: For plants manufacturing larger scale components, installing RoboGauge on a gantry system can solve issues where a low cost robot arm is out of reach. A variety of scenarios for multi-axis systems are supported by the FLY 3D Server as the RoboGauge proprietary calibration will self-align using multi-pass point-clouds.

Robotized Part/Feature Localization
Motion Setup: SKEYE-6M is mounted as a tool of a seven axis industrial robot. Scanning occurs during translation in the 7th axis. Application Description: RoboGauge offers a fast and flexible solution to recognize and locate parts based on 3D features. Part position and orientation (6 DOF) are transferred back to process systems for painting, CNC machining, deburring, assembly operations or registration in metrology inspection applications.

Inline Defect Inspection
Motion Setup: SKEYE-6M is attached as a tool to an industrial robot while parts approach on a walking beam conveyor. Scanning is performed on pre-programmed robot path execution. Application Description: Walking beam conveyor application usually imply demanding cycle time. A free flying RoboGauge rigged on an industrial robot will survey components or assemblies for feature presence-absence testing, crack/void detection or surface texture analysis. Built-in digital I/Os and Ethernet-based communication utility tools allow simple integration with third-party industrial devices.

Rotary Inspection Station
Motion Setup: SKEYE-6M is mounted as a tool on a six axis industrial robot facing an encoded rotary table. Scanning is performed through table motion while the robot positions the scanner head for various strategic field of views. Application Description: Typically used for cylindrical symmetry parts such as tires/wheels, transmission assemblies or any rotor assembly, it can be deployed in situations where factory floor economy is a major concern. In this MO, RoboGauge offers solutions yielding fast and accurate inspection systems requiring minimal landscape occupation.
